Bulgaria Considers to Replace Russian MiG-29s With F-16 Jets
In June 2018 Bulgarian Parliament approved a plan to spend around $2 billion on its Air Force modernization. It planned to purchase 16 fighter jets to replace its existing air fleet of MiG-29s.
"A new F-16 is a much better aircraft than all the others available," Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borissov said on December 14.
Croatia Denies US Opposes Israeli Jet Purchase
"The US government has given permission to the state of Israel to offer the Israeli F-16 to Croatia, and we have that document. Israel is obliged to deliver a NATO-compatible aircraft to Croatia ... and delivery is also the responsibility of the state of Israel," Krsticevic said.

Sappers Destroyed a Bomb Found in the Center of Sofia
Specialized teams from the Land Force and Air Force teams transported the World War II air defense bomb, the Defense Ministry said.
It was discovered during excavation works for the new metro in the area of "Evlogi and Hristo Georgiev" Boulevard in the capital.
Specialized teams have detonated the aviational bomb in Slivnitsa. During the detonation, 2.5 kg of trotyl is used.

Air force pilot dies after plane crashes
The captain of a Hellenic Air Force training aircraft who died in a plane crash during a training flight on Tuesday has been named.
The body of 39-year-old Squadron Leader Nikolaos Vasileiou was found shortly after the incident by rescuers in the crashed plane. He was the father of two children.
