The former police chief of the Suruç district in Şanlıurfa province has claimed that a warning letter, sent from the Şanlıurfa provincial police HQ to the Suruç district police office three days before an ISIL suicide bomb attack in Suruç last July, warned them about an attack targeting security forces - rather than the group that was attacked. 

Seventeen suspected members of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) face up to 15 years in jail for "membership of a terrorist organization" due to their alleged activities within the ISIL-linked "Tatl?bal" group.

A blast in Turkey's district of Suruc near the border with Syria killed at least  27 people on Monday, Anadolu Agency (AA) reported.

At least another 100 people were sent to hospitals in the area, AA quoted police officials as saying.

The death toll is expected to rise, according to police.
