Warning letter before Suruç attack was for police not civilians, claims former Turkish police chief

The former police chief of the Suruç district in Şanlıurfa province has claimed that a warning letter, sent from the Şanlıurfa provincial police HQ to the Suruç district police office three days before an ISIL suicide bomb attack in Suruç last July, warned them about an attack targeting security forces - rather than the group that was attacked. 

Turkey detains 23 ISIL suspects and 21 children on Syria border

Turkey has detained 23 suspected Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) militants along with 21 children who were trying to infiltrate Turkey from Syria, the Turkish army has said.  
 
The suspects, whose nationalities were not disclosed, were captured on Jan. 23 as they tried to enter Elbeyli, a district in the southeastern province of Kilis.

Democratic Party (HDP) town headquarters and the police station only 300 meters apart from each other. When we were there last year, during the first influx of refugees from Kobane, families were camping in the yard of the Amara Cultural Center grounds.
