A strong earthquake was felt in northern Iran on Thursday morning. It was registered at 7.59 am local time (6.29 am Bulgarian time). Its magnitude was 5.8 on the Richter scale, and its epicentre was near the town of Sangan, at a depth of 10 km.
A minute later, a new 3.7 magnitude earthquake was registered in the same area.

A 5.8 magnitude earthquake shook northern Pakistan. 25 people were killed and more than 400 were injured, BTA reported.
Footage broadcast by Pakistani media showed collapsed buildings and major cracks along roads in the city of Mirpur, located in Pakistan's Azad Kashmir, near the border with India.
6.4-magnitude Earthquake in Japan
An earthquake of magnitude 6.4 shook Japan, Reuters reported, citing the American Geophysical Institute.
The epicenter was at sea, 103 kilometers northeast of Honshu Island and 64 kilometers deep.
There is no evidence of casualties and material damage.
