Average age of Turkish e-scooter riders is 27

The average age of people using e-scooters in Turkey is 27, with the number of riders growing by the day, Kadir Can Abdik, the CEO of BinBin Scooters, has said.

"From 17 to 65, people [of all ages] ride e-scooters. The average age is 27 because it is a very new business sector," Abdik of BinBin, one of the 12 companies operating in Istanbul, told state-run Anadolu Agency on Nov. 22.

Turkey witnessed least precipitation of two decades last year

An annual report released by the State Meteorological Service has showed that the volume of the precipitation across the country between Oct. 1, 2020 and Sept. 30, 2021, has been the least of the last two decades.

"The precipitation decreased by 16 percent compared to rainfalls that occurred a year ago and some 19 percent down from the average of several years," the report said.

3,250-year-old seal belonging to Hittite prince revealed

A 3,250-year-old seal belonging to a Hittite prince and an ancient cuneiform tablet dating back 3,400 years were discovered in Turkey's southern Hatay province.

The excavations in Accana Hoyuk of the Reyhanli district in Hatay on behalf of the Culture and Tourism Ministry with the support of the Turkish Historical Society, have been underway for six months.

Aegean Sea pushbacks divert irregular migration to Italy: Minister

Pushbacks in the Aegean Sea have diverted vessels carrying irregular migrants to Italy, Turkey's interior minister said on Nov. 19.

Noting recent reports of an increase in irregular migrant arrivals in Italy from Turkey, Süleyman Soylu told Anadolu Agency that the ships carrying these migrants were not coming from Turkey.

5.1-magnitude earthquake jolts Turkey's east

A magnitude-5.1 earthquake struck Turkey's eastern province of Erzurum, the country's disaster authority announced on Nov. 19.

The quake shook Köprüköy district of the province at 3:40 p.m. local time, according to the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD).

It occurred at a depth of 6.94 kilometers below the surface, it added.

Bulgarian Ambassador Angel Tcholakov was informed that Turkey rejects all allegations that Bulgarian voters of Turkish ethnicity were essentially directed by the Turkish authorities to vote for an ethnic Turkish party in Bulgaria on November 14.
