An Ankara court has decided to halt the extraordinary party congress process of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) as a precaution, MHP deputy leader Oktay Öztürk announced on April 29.

Turkey's Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) will hold an extraordinary party congress on May 15, a three-person panel appointed by an Ankara court has said amid an intensification of inner-party disputes.

The panel, made up of Mehmet Bilgiç, Ayhan Erel and Ali Sa??r, held a meeting that lasted for 10 hours on April 18, after which the date was announced.

The feud within the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) has become increasingly bitter, with the party launching a probe into a party leadership contender over her remarks against current leader Devlet Bahçeli.

Turkish retail chain Be?endik, which also owns Real hypermarket stores in the country, has applied for a suspension of bankruptcy, with a court deciding to appoint trustees as a measure.
