Compulsory religion class 'against the law,' court in Turkey's south rules
A court in the southern province of Antalya has ruled that compulsory religion classes are "openly against the law," following a complaint filed by an atheist family.
An atheist family applied to court in order to exempt their child, identified only by the initials as E.D., from compulsory religion classes, Doğan News Agency reported on March 15.
Court arrests captain over tour boat accident off Turkey's Antalya
An Antalya court ordered the arrest of the captain of a tour boat on Sept. 6 after an accident killed two people off the Mediterranean resort of Antalya last week, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.
The captain, identified only as A.T., two staff members and the owner of the tour boat have been referred to court after testifying to the prosecutor.

Four people were arrested by a local court in Turkey's southern province of Antalya on Nov. 8 for ties to the production and sale of bootleg alcohol.
An Antalya court ruled the arrest of four suspects, identified only with their initials M.A, ?.Ç, ?.Y. and M.M., who were among six suspects detained in the city after 560 bottles of bootleg alcohol were seized in an operation.
