Israel has killed more than 44,000 civilians in Gaza and left around 2 million Palestinians vulnerable in the face of mounting hunger and infectious diseases, the Turkish top diplomat has said, underlining that serious damage has been done to the global system due to the failure to stop the massacres.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Sunday called on the Muslim world to apply pressure for an arms embargo against Israel, reminding that Türkiye has garnered support from 52 countries in this regard.

The 15th Turkish-Arab Economic Forum commenced in Istanbul on Thursday, featuring high-level officials from Türkiye and Arab countries.

The one-day event gathers ministers, experts, representatives and economists from various institutions and the private sector to discuss key agenda items.

The foreign ministers of Türkiye and Jordan will meet in the Turkish capital Ankara to discuss the recent developments in the Middle East amid intensified attacks by Israel against Lebanon, which increase the fear of a further spread of the conflict to the region.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken in New York on the sidelines of a U.N. General Assembly session.

Türkiye's Foreign Ministry shared photos of the meeting via X on Sept. 27, though details of the discussion were not disclosed.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan criticized Israel on Thursday for its refusal to adopt a two-state solution and warned that the unresolved Palestinian issue poses a risk to regional stability.

"We cannot wait for the goodwill of Israel to implement the two-state solution," Fidan stated.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Sept. 18 participated in a high-level meeting of a delegation jointly designed by the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Arab League to address the Gaza war.

The delegation dubbed the "contact group" comprises foreign ministers from Türkiye, Palestine, Egypt, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Indonesia and Nigeria.

The Gaza Contact Group by the two main Islamic organizations will hold another round of meetings in Jordan on Sept. 18 to give a boost to ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas, the Turkish diplomatic sources have said.

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan gathered with his counterparts from the Gaza Contact Group in Madrid on Friday, emphasizing the urgent need for a ceasefire in Gaza and continuity in humanitarian aid distribution.
