Arad: Traffic jam at border with Hungary; 1hr wait time at Nadlac II to exit Romania

One of the crossing points along the border with Hungary faces traffic jam on Friday morning, with the wait time for control of documents and transit at the Nadlac II crossing point (the pan-European highway) being of at least one hour, although the number of control lanes has been supplemented.

Twelve migrants from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, found hidden in two lorries at border with Hungary

Officers at the Nadlac I Border Crossing Point caught 12 migrants from Afghanistan and Bangladesh trying to cross the border illegally into Hungary, hiding in two lorries. Both lorries were driven by Bulgarian nationals transporting starch and bird food to companies in Slovakia and Sweden, according to the accompanying documents.

Nearly 20 migrants from Afghanistan and Nepal have been discovered in the last 24 hours while trying to leave Romania illegally through Arad and Bihor counties, hidden in freight trucks leaving for the Schengen area. According to a press release sent on Tuesday by the Arad Border Police, the migrants were discovered at the Varsand, Nadlac II and Bors border crossing points.

Large lines of trucks formed, on Tuesday morning, at the main crossing points on the border with Hungary, on the way out of Romania, due to the restrictions applied to heavy traffic until Monday evening, so that drivers are forced to wait between 80 and 420 minutes to reach border control.

28 immigrants caught while trying to illegally cross Hungarian border

The western Arad border police have found, within the last 24 hours, 28 immigrants who were trying to illegally get out of Romania, hidden in trucks or walking in the field, all being from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Somalia. In a truck driven by a Romanian, verified at the Nadlac II Border Crossing, there were six immigrants found.

About 30 migrants from Afghanistan, Pakistan and Iraq were caught in Romania in the past 24 hours trying to cross the border illegally into Hungary, hidden in lorries checked at the Nadlac II Border Crossing Point (PTF) or walking in the field. Migrants were found in six lorries checked at PTF Nadlac II, hidden among cargo, the Arad Border Police reported on Friday.
