Continuing spate of violence, anarchists vandalize shops on central Athens street
Self-styled anarchists ran amok along Patission Street on Friday, vandalizing storefronts, the latest act in a spate of lawlessness in Athens.
Shortly after 10 a.m., hooded assailants damaged the façade of a branch of Hellenic Post (ELTA) and the glass fronts of two shops, according to police.
More attacks in Athens against stores, post office, ministry building
Self-styled anarchists resumed their violent activity on Friday morning in Athens attacking stores and a post office on Patission Street in central Athens.
A number of people who had their faces covered created damage to a series of stores and a Hellenic Post branch within a few dozen meters from the building of the Athens University of Economics and Business.

Rectors condemn latest acts of vandalism at university
Academic chiefs meeting in Athens for the 86th Rectors' Summit on Friday condemned the most recent acts of vandalism at a university by anti-establishment and anarchist elements.
The attack occurred on Wednesday at Thessaloniki's University of Macedonia, when a group of hooded men smashed doors, windows and equipment with tire irons, scaring students and teachers.

In the latest incident of violence on a university campus, two people were beaten up on the grounds of the Athens University of Economics and Business last night, according to an announcement by the university's senate.
According to the announcement, two people, including an administrative employee of the university, were hurt in the attack by around eight youths.
