Austria to Italy: Stop migrants reaching Europe
The Czech Republic’s foreign minister has suggested that the European Union consider a military engagement in Libya to reduce the flow of migrants arriving by boat from there to Europe.

Council of Europe warns Turkey over death penalty plans
The Council of Europe warned Turkey against re-establishing the death penalty on Oct. 30.
"Executing the death penalty is incompatible with membership of the Council of Europe," the 47-member organization, which includes Turkey, tweeted a day after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said his government would ask parliament to consider reintroduction.
Balkan Suspects Held in Austrian Anti-Terror Raids
The suspects were detained on Friday in a police operation codenamed Palmira which was aimed at alleged terrorists and recruiters of fighters in foreign conflicts such as Syria.
Around 900 police and other officials were involved in the operation which was described by the Austrian authorities as the biggest "in the history of Austrian state security".
