Serbian Lawyer's Killing Sparks Call for Wider Investigation
The President of the Serbian Bar Association, Viktor Gostiljac, on Monday said that lawyers would demand the formation of a state commission to investigate attacks on their profession.
Matic: Lawyer Tintor falsely accused Commission
The commission's president, Veran Matic, said this on Thursday.
Matic said Tintor accused the Commission of "exerting pressure" in order for statements that were not given before the prosecution or the court to be inclued in the court procedure.

Former chief war crimes prosecutor Vladimir Vukcevic accused the Bar Association of Belgrade of refusing to register him as a lawyer because he did not prosecute enough cases in which Serbs were the victims.
End in Sight to Serbian Lawyers’ Strike
After a four-hour meeting on December 10, lawyers' representatives and Serbian Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic reached an agreement on tax rates for lawyers, which was one of the reasons why lawyers went on strike in mid-September.
Tax rates will rise by 10 per cent instead of by 40 to 300 per cent, as the Justice Ministry had intended in June.

Selakovic: We are close to good solution for state, lawyers
BELGRADE – Serbian Justice Minister Nikola Selakovic said Thursday that the strike of lawyers was a culmination of a bad situation in the judiciary, which in itself was a result of pursuing bad policies in the past.
Belgrade lawyers continue strike, others resume work
BELGRADE - The Bar Association of Belgrade (AKB) has said that it will continue to strike until its demands are met, while lawyers in other parts of Serbia resumed work on Monday.
The AKB executive board said in a statement that the strike, which started on June 18, will continue due to the fact that the livelihood of most lawyers is under threat.
Finance Ministry halts all previously agreed measures
BELGRADE - The Finance Ministry released on Friday that it is forced to halt the implementation of all the measures previously agreed on with representatives of bar associations which aim to reduce the tax base as certain bar associations decided to continue their strike.
Novak Nedic appointed government general secretary
BELGRADE - The government of Serbia appointed Novak Nedic as general secretary of the government.
Nedic (1982), coming from a reputable family of jurists, graduated from the Faculty of Laws of the University of Belgrade.
