Man arrested for phone threats directed at Vucic and Dacic

BELGRADE - The Belgrade police have arrested S.S., 19, for sending phone threats directed at Serbia's prime minister and foreign minister, the Interior Ministry said on Monday.

The suspect called the police multiple times on August 10 and issued threats directed at Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, the statement says.

Police searching for those who attacked Fonet editor

BELGRADE - Belgrade police are intensively working on finding and identifying three attackers who beat up Davor Pasalic, deputy editor-in-chief at the Fonet news agency, the Serbian Interior Ministry stated on Friday.

Pasalic was attacked in Zoran Djindjic St. in New Belgrade in the early morning hours on July 3, close to the building in which he lives.

Belgrade police parades through Knez Mihailova Street

BELGRADE - Belgrade police paraded through the Knez Mihailova Street on Saturday on the occasion of the Day of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Police Day.

The parade included members of the traffic and criminal police, firemen-rescuers, the rescue team of the Serbian Interior Ministry, officers with dogs and members of the Cavalry Brigade.

Three persons arrested for causing panic via Facebook

BELGRADE - The Belgrade police have arrested three persons for spreading false information on social networks about the number of persons killed in the floods that hit Serbia last week.

The suspects are charged with an attempt to cause panic and disorder, head of the Belgrade police Veselin Milic said at the City Assembly.

Joksimovic: Do everything to make Pride parade happen

BELGRADE - Serbia's Minister without Portfolio in charge of European Integration Jadranka Joksimovic said Thursday that it is important for Serbia to do everything it can to make sure that the Pride parade takes place in Belgrade this year, adding that she will personally back up the staging of this event.
