Turkish Journalists Demand New State Advertising Law After Court Ruling

"The Constitutional Court ruled that the sentences given by the Press Advertising Agency to newspapers violated the freedom of the press. We call on the Advertising Agency to act on this ruling and for parliament to change the law that leads to arbitrariness," the Journalists' Union of Turkey, TGS, said on Friday.

Kosovo Imam Suspended For Insulting Albanian History

The Islamic Society of Kosovo, BIK, the country's main Muslim organisation, has suspended an imam from Prizren for a year for "insulting the Albanian nation".

"He has been publishing historical and statistical lies, and scientifically unreliable statistics about the population of Kosovo in the year 1445," Resul Rexhepi, the Secretary General of the BIK, said.
