BNR Board of Directors

In a joint meeting on Wednesday, the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate appointed members to the Board of Directors of the National Bank of Romania (BNR), the Fiscal Council, and also nominated the chairman of the National Audio-Visual Council (CNA). The voting was secret, with ballot papers.

The Senate and the Chamber of Deputies gathered on Wednesday in a joint extraordinary session to appoint the new members of the Board of Directors (BD) of the National Bank of Romania (BNR), the Fiscal Council and the president of the National Audiovisual Council (CNA).

The national currency may depreciate in the next period, after the analysts expected a key interest rate rise, and when they are disappointed they can react, the Governor of the National Bank of Romania (BNR), Mugur Isarescu said on Wednesday.
