Hundreds of fans of Uruguay’s Penarol created riots on the waterfront in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday (Jan 23), setting fire to a bus and vandalizing beach pavilions, Brazilian police said.
The riots lasted more than an hour until police restored order involving at least 200 Uruguayans, Rio governor Claudio Castro said.

The Brazilian police have killed 5012 people last year, 19 percent more than 2016, a local news site reported and was quoted by DPA.

Greek ambassador missing in Brazil: Officials
Greece's ambassador to Brazil, Kyriakos Amiridis, went missing three days ago near Rio de Janeiro while vacationing with his family, officials said Dec. 29, asking for information that could help locate him.
"A case has been opened to investigate the ambassador's disappearance," Rio state police said in a statement, according to AFP.

The Greek ambassador to Brazl is missing!
The Greek ambassador to Brazl Kyriakos Amiridis, 59, is missing. According to the Brazilian police, he was last seen on Monday night.
The case is being investigated by the Rio de Janeiro Homicide Department.
