President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called on the United Nations to stop arms sales to Israel, revealing that Türkiye has initiated a diplomatic effort to that end.

The leaders have made a call for a ceasefire in Gaza, BRICS countries, including Presidents of China’s Xi Jinping, Russia Vladimir Putin, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but, perhaps most importantly, they discussed an alternative, non-Western payment system.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Aykhan Hajizada announced the application during an interview with Anadolu Agency, stating, "Azerbaijan has officially applied to become a member of BRICS."
