Turkish FM calls Russia's Lavrov 'to express sorrow'
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu called his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov on Nov. 25 "to express his sorrow" over the downing of a Russian jet by Turkey near the Syrian border.
The Turkish foreign minister expressed "his sincere condolences," Lavrov told reporters at a press conference in Moscow. "But the Turkish minister tried to excuse the incident," Lavrov added.

Turkey's new foreign minister to visit Turkish Cyprus in first trip of term
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu?o?lu will visit northern Cyprus on Nov. 26 in his first abroad trip since resuming his position after a three-month break, the ministry said in a written statement on Nov. 25.

Gazprom says halts Ukraine gas deliveries over Kyiv non-payment
Russian state giant Gazprom on Nov. 25 said it had halted gas deliveries to Ukraine after Kyiv failed to make upfront payments for more supplies.
Gazprom chief Alexei Miller said that as of 07.00 GMT Ukraine's Naftogaz had used up all the gas it had paid for and "no new upfront payment has been made."
Limit to credit card payments in Turkey extended to boost consumption
The limitation on credit card installments to pay for a number of items has been extended from nine months to 12 months to revive consumption levels.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Nov. 25 said Turkey's political leaders had been encouraging the Islamisation of Turkish society, something he said was a problem, Russian agencies quoted him as saying.
Speaking a day after Turkey shot down one of Moscow's jets, Putin said:
"The problem is not the tragedy we witnessed yesterday," the TASS news agency quoted him as saying.
