The power-sharing coalition comprising GERB-SDS and WCC-DB, supported by DPS, has agreed to terminate Bulgaria's exemption from the EU's ban on exporting derivatives from Russian oil by January 1, 2024, and end the exemption for Russian oil imports by March 1, 2024, as shared by Jordan Tzonev, Chair of the parliamentary Budget and Finance Committee.

Chairman of the Save Romania Union (USR) Bucharest branch Claudiu Nasui welcomes the government's plans to cover between 35 and 41.5 percent of the gross wage for every employee who returns to work, but considers that the measure should be broadened in the form of a tax exemption for the minimum wage. "The Orban Government has a good idea and must be supported to implement it.

"Volya" won't support the deal for the purchase of eight F-16 fighters in the plenary, the party's press centre reported. The deal must be submitted for ratification by Parliament by the end of this week.

Volya's deputies will vote against the purchase of fighters in the defense committee scheduled for tomorrow and the Budget and Finance Committee scheduled for Wednesday.

The Budget and Finance Committee will consider a radical change in the calculation of the waste tax in Bulgaria. The project provides for a "polluter to pay" and this will lead to the lifting of the household fees, reported bTV. 

MPs will hold hearings in two commissions today - the Budget and Finance Committee and the Commission on Religious Denominations and Human Rights, reported BGNES.

GERB proposed on July 12 that cash payments be limited to BGN 5,000 (Euro 2,500) from January 1 next year, reported the Bulgarian National Television. 

Amendments to the Tax and Social Insurance Code will be discussed on July 13 by the Budget Committee in Parliament.

Lawmakers have voted to approved changes to the Bank Insolvency Act on a first reading which also allow for the publication of a report by UK-based consultancy AlixPartners on insolvent Corporate Commercial Bank (Corpbank/KTB), local media have reported.

The Bulgarian parliament will discuss the draft government budget for next year at an extraordinary plenary sitting on Tuesday.

Prior to the draft government budget, the MPs will first discuss and adopt at second reading the budgets of the National Health Insurance Fund (NZOK) and the National Social Security Institute (NOI).

The Budget and Finance Committee of the Bulgarian parliament approved on Monday the draft government budget for next year.

The chairperson of the committee, Menda Stoyanova, proposed the planned cuts to the social benefits of police officers, which had been the cause of large-scale protests across the country earlier in November, to be dropped.

A final vote is due this week on Bulgaria's state budget for 2016 and an overhaul of this year's expenditure.

The Budget and Finance Committee with Parliament on Friday is to vote on funding that is to be spent next year. Separately, money allocated to the national healthcare fund NZOK is also to be put to a vote.
