Bulgaria Reports Fragile Growth in Industrial Production Amid Declining Trends

Bulgaria's National Statistical Institute has reported weak monthly growth in industrial production, ending a streak of 20 consecutive months of annual decline. Data from August reveals a modest increase of 0.8% compared to July, following a growth of 0.6% in July over June, and no change in June.

EU Annual Inflation Slows in March 2024, Bulgaria's Rate at 3.1%

Survey: Nearly a Quarter of Bulgarians Consider Going to Work Abroad

SOFIA, Oct. 5 -- As many as 23 percent of Bulgarians aged 18-64 consider going to work abroad, a nationally-representative survey showed here on Thursday.

"This does not mean that these people will go tomorrow," said Vassil Tonchev, director of Sova Harris agency, which conducted the survey in the first week of September.

According to the preliminary seasonally adjusted data of Bulgaria's National Statistical Institute, the turnover in retail trade increased by 0.4% in August compared to the previous month.

In August 2014 the working day adjusted turnover in retail trade, except for motor vehicles and motorcycles grew by 4.5% in comparison with the same month of the previous year.
