The Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center in southern Athens is on the brink of becoming the first fully digitized hospital in Greece and among the first in Europe, while also moving to the next stage with the latest generation of imaging systems and artificial intelligence. 

There has been an 85 percent drop in organ transplants over the past two months as hospitals have focused their resources primarily on responding to patients infected with Covid-19, prominent Greek nephrologists have said.

Archbishop Ieronymos of Athens and all Greece has exited the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center, a day after he had a pacemaker installed.

The procedure on Ieronymos, 82, was done using local anesthesia and he is "in excellent health" his office said in a statement Sunday.
