Central Bank intervenes in ‘unhealthy’ FX pricing
The Turkish Central Bank intervened in foreign exchange markets for a third time this month on Dec. 10, citing "unhealthy price formations."
"The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey directly intervenes in the market via selling transactions due to unhealthy price formations in exchange rates," said the bank.

Inflation will soon ease: Central Bank governor

Turkish Central Bank signs agreement for digital currency
The Turkish Central Bank signed an agreement with defense and technology firms Aselsan and Havelsan, and the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) for the research, development and testing processes of potential digital Turkish lira.

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) will continue to use monetary policy tools effectively to achieve a permanent decline in inflation, its new governor said on March 21.
Turkey's short-term foreign debt stock total at $140 bln
Turkey's short-term external debt stock - debt that must be paid in the next 12 months - reached $140.3 billion in January, according to official data on March 17.
The figure climbed 1.3% from the end of 2020, data from the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) showed.
Turkish Central Bank revises reserve requirements
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) on Nov. 27 revised its regulations on reserve requirements to improve the effectiveness of the monetary transmission mechanism in the country.
In line with its main objective of price stability through monetary tightening, the bank decided to simplify its reserve requirement regulations, it underlined in a written statement.

Turkey's Central Bank posts $7.9B net profit in 2019
Turkey's Central Bank posted 44.73 billion Turkish liras ($7.87 billion) net profit in 2019, the bank announced on May 18.
The bank's net profit was 56.3 billion Turkish liras ($11.67 billion) in 2018, according to a press release by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT).
