Bulgaria: The Central Election Commission will announce the Final Results on April 6

The Central Election Commission (CEC) will announce the final results of the parliamentary elections on April 6, CEC spokeswoman Rositsa Mateva told BTA.

So far, summary data has been announced on the CEC results website, Mateva emphasized, not final. The commission found that the data from 11 protocols from abroad were not added to them.

Elections in Bulgaria: Voter Turnout was 40.63 percent

The Central Election Commission published data on voter turnout at the end of election day last night. It is 40.63 percent.

For comparison, the voter turnout in the previous parliamentary elections - at the beginning of October last year - was 39.41 percent.

On April 2, 77,271 more people voted, according to CEC data.

The 179,570 people who voted outside of Bulgaria determined that the first place abroad was for the Movement for Rights and Freedoms (DPS) which received 36.86% (62,906 people) of the vote.

The results of the GERB-SDS and WCC-DB coalitions after the elections for the 49th National Assembly are in favor of GERB-SDS by more than one and a half percent difference. In the battle for the third place - "Vazrazhdane" leads by less than 1 percent difference over DPS. The fifth is BSP, "There Is Such a People" are also part of the parliament.

The Central Election Committee recommends April 2 as the Date for Early Elections in Bulgaria

Elections under the new rules can be held as early as April 2. This was announced by the Chairwoman of the CEC, Kamelia Neikova, during a hearing in the National Assembly in connection with the preparations for holding early parliamentary elections.

The reason is that at an earlier date the supply of the required quantity of secure paper for machine voting cannot be guaranteed:
