ADMIE signs agreement with China’s SGID for 20% stake in Ariadne interconnection

The Independent Power Transmission Operator (ADMIE) signed an agreement for the sale of a 20% stake in its subsidiary Ariadne Interconnection to State Grid International Development (SGID) of China on Thursday.

Ariadne Interconnection is the implementation agent for the linking of the Crete and Attica power grids.

Launch of new bridge for Greek-Chinese exchanges of all forms

The Chinese Embassy in Athens hosted on Friday the launching event of the Sino-Hellenic Information Post (S.H.I.P.), a new platform designed to promote Greek-Chinese business and cultural relations and facilitate the mutual understanding of the two cultures, while offering information and insight in Greek and Mandarin.

Greece expects to receive more Chinese tourists in 2019

Greece will see a further rise in tourism flow from China in 2019, after an increase of over 22 percent recorded in the first nine months of 2018, both Greek and Chinese officials told Xinhua.

By the end of 2018, Greek tourism authorities expect to welcome up to 200,000 visitors from China, one of the world's fastest growing markets.

Piraeus port blockade draws China complaint

With the blockade of the cargo terminal run by China's Cosco at Piraeus by disgruntled port workers causing serious disruptions in the transfer of cargo shipments and drawing the ire of port officials, the Chinese Embassy in Athens filed a complaint on Friday with the Greek government, urging it to protect China's significant investments in Greece.
