Vucic: Sino-Serbian cooperation, friendship continue to strengthen

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Thursday Sino-Serbian cooperation and friendship continued to strengthen, opening up new horizons for joint progress.

In an Instagram post, Vucic congratulated the people of China on the 75th anniversary of the establishment of PR China and on "the achievements that have shaped a powerful and influential state that it is today."

Serbia: Monument to Confucius unveiled in Belgrade

A monument to Chinese philosopher Confucius was unveiled on Wednesday in Belgrade's Square of Serbian-Chinese Friendship.

The unveiling was done by Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali and Zhang Chunxian, a member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of China.

They said the monument celebrated the sincere and unbreakable friendship between the two nations, Tanjug reported.

UNS and ACJA commemorate fellow journalists

BELGRADE - President of the Journalists Association of Serbia (UNS) Ljiljana Smajlovic and officials of the All-China Journalists Association (ACJA) laid wreaths on Wednesday at the site of the former Chinese embassy in Belgrade, which was destroyed in NATO's bombing campaign against Yugoslavia in 1999, killing three Chinese journalists.

BELGRADE -- Wreaths were laid on Wednesday at the site in Belgrade where three Chinese journalists died 15 years ago in a NATO airstrike on the Chinese embassy.

China's Ambassador to Serbia Zhang Wanxue and Journalists' Association of Serbia (UNS) President Ljiljana Smajlović took part in the ceremony.
