Turkey's defense industry body on Aug. 11 said Ankara was determined to continue its policies to ensure that the Turkish defense industry operates fully independently.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and U.S. President Donald Trump discussed developments in Libya in a phone call on June 8, according to Turkey's Communications Directorate.

The directorate said in a statement that the leaders exchanged views on bilateral relations and regional developments, including the Libyan crisis.

Turkey's president on May 24 exchanged greetings with his counterparts from Azerbaijan, Pakistan, Iran, Oman and Turkmenistan for Eid al-Fitr, the Muslim holiday following the holy month of Ramadan.

Turkey's communications director wrote a letter to The New York Times for ignoring Turkey's success against the novel coronavirus in an opinion piece written by its editorial board.   

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Monday rejected Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu's resignation after a midnight meeting between the two men.

Turkey's state Communications Directorate said in a statement that Erdogan "did not find the request [to resign] suitable".

Turkey has launched a project for reducing the spread of the novel coronavirus by using location data from patients' mobile devices, the country's Communications Directorate said on April 8. 

Turkey's president and Qatar's emir held a phone call on March 23 to discuss recent developments, the Communications Directorate said.

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Qatar's Emir Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani spoke over the phone on cooperating regarding the fight against the coronavirus, the directorate said in a statement.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan spoke with his Palestinian counterpart Mahmoud Abbas over the phone on March 21, reaffirming Turkey's support to Palestine in its fight against the novel coronavirus.

According to a statement by the Communications Directorate, Erdoğan and Abbas held a phone call to discuss recent developments and regional issues.
