SYRIZA shares second place with PASOK in public survey
The ruling party, New Democracy (ND), maintains its leading position despite a slight decrease to 29.5%, as revealed by a public poll conducted by SKAI TV and Pulse in the final week of February. Meanwhile, the main opposition party, leftist SYRIZA, and the social democratic party, PASOK, are tied for second place at 12%.

Law easing restrictions for Greeks voting from abroad passed
MPs have enacted a law easing the requirements for Greek citizens wishing to vote in Greek elections.
A total of 208 MPs - eight more than the constitutional requirement - from ruling New Democracy, PASOK-Movement for Change, Niki and Course of Freedom backed the bill, while lawmakers from the main opposition SYRIZA and the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) voted against it.
Axe-wielding man arrested for vandalizing kiosk outside KKE offices
Police arrested a man on Wednesday morning after he was seen using an axe and a sledgehammer to hack a wooden kiosk located outside the headquarters of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) in Perissos, north of Athens.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
As of now, there is no information available regarding the possible motive of the suspect.

Athens metro stations shut down, as protest rally is held over Tempe train collision
The Athens metro stops "Syntagma" and "Panepistimio" were shut down at 10:30 on Sunday for a rally taking place at Syntagma Square over the deadly train collision accident at Tempe.
The rally is being held downtown as of 12:00 noon, and metro trains will be passing through the two stations mentioned above without stopping.
Papariga to bow out as Communist MP after 30 years
Aleka Papariga, the former general secretary of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE), will not contest the next election for the party, thus bringing to an end a 30-year stint as MP.
The KKE said the party made the decision with the agreement of Papariga, 77, who headed the party from 1991 to 2013.
