After the meeting with Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım and Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) leader Devlet Bahçeli, the process about the presidential system has started.

Even though the leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), Devlet Bahçeli, fiercely opposed the ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) when they proposed the presidential system to the Constitution Conciliation Committee last term, this time he said "There is no harm in asking the nation; AK Party should introduce its proposal."

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an has called on the country's main opposition party to lend support to the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in its renewed efforts to enact a new constitution, suggesting such cooperation would eliminate the need to take a fresh charter to a referendum.
