Turkish Police Disperses Women Protesters With Tear Gas
Turkish police fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse women protesters who marched on Thursday night to mark International Day for the Elimination Violence Against Women.
"We are not silenced, we do not fear and we do not obey," the women chanted together in the streets of Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Mersin and other cities and towns.

Turkey gears up for ratification of key treaty on protection of personal data
Turkey has accelerated the ratification procedure for a key international treaty which has been on the shelf since it was signed more than three decades ago.
Almost 1,700 juveniles jailed in Turkey as of March
As of March 2014, the total number of children in prison and detention centers throughout Turkey stands at 1,686, Justice Minister Bekir BozdaÄ has said.
BozdaÄâs statement came in response to a motion filed by Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Ankara deputy Ãzcan Yeniçeri, Anadolu Agency reported on July 2.
Eurimages to support Turkish films
The Board of Management of the Council of Europeâs Eurimages, European Cinema Support Fund, has agreed to support 20 film projects of feature films and two animated films for a total amount 8.3 million euros.

Sculpture by Miro displayed at Baksı Museum
Joan Miroâs bronze sculpture âFemme aux beaux seinsâ (The Woman with Beautiful Breasts), is on display at the Baksı Museum, which won the Council of Europe Museum Prize for 2014
The museum was established in 2010 in the village of Baksı by Professor Hüsamettin Koçan and is located 45 kilometers away from the eastern Black Sea city of Bayburt.
