Albania’s Constitutional Court Suspends National Theatre Proceedings

After three sessions, the Constitutional Court in Tirana has suspended the legal initiatives that paved the way for construction of a new National Theatre undertaken by the government and the Municipality of Tirana until the court issues a final decision on the issue.

The old National Theatre was demolished in May 2020, after three years of protests by activists.

Life Expectancy in Bulgaria Drops by 1.5 Years amidst COVID-19 Pandemic

Caretaker Health Minister Stoicho Katsarov said on Friday that Bulgaria's casualties of the coronavirus pandemic are "horrendous" and that after increasing by close to five years in the past 30 years, the average life expectancy in Bulgaria last year dropped by 1.5 years.

Government Provides BGN 81 Million for Hemus Motorway Construction

The Council of Ministers decided to provide 81,157,840 leva in financial resources to the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works (MRDPW) to pay for this year's construction activities along the unfinished Hemus Motorway which will link the Bulgarian capital Sofia with the seaside city of Varna, the Government Information Service reported on Tuesday.
