Croatia Has Lost Half a Million Workers in Ten Years
Croatia has lost 500,000 workers over the last ten years - from 2008 to 2018. This is what Davorko Vidović claims, counselor for Labour Policy and Employment at CCE.
Croatia Imports More Foreign Workers to Ease Shortages
The Croatian government on Wednesday approved higher quotas for foreign workers: 2,000 work permits for the tourism industry and 1,000 for the construction sector. The possibility of an additional 1,000 permits was discussed in case shortages arise in the domestic workforce in both sectors.

After an excellent pre-season, Croatian tourism officials are expecting a profitable summer, but experts are concerned about whether the country is ready for an even greater influx of tourists because of a labour shortage.
