DS premises in Topola and Pozarevac stoned

BELGRADE - The premises of the Democratic Party (DS) in Topola and Pozarevac, central Serbia, were stoned during the night, DS released and called on competent bodies to immediately identify and punish the perpetrators of crimes.

In the release, DS said that this is the only way for the government to send the message that such a showdown with the opposition is not acceptable.

RIK releases collective electoral list

BELGRADE - The Republic Electoral Commission (RIK) released late Wednesday the collective electoral list for the March 16 parliamentary elections, which consists of 19 slates submitted by 19 parties, coalitions and citizens' groups.

The RIK held a session at midnight, which was the deadline for slates to be withdrawn if any of the submitters wished to do so.

SNS to have 44 percent of votes, NDS 8, DS 7

BELGRADE - The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) will win 44 percent of votes in the March 16 elections, ahead of the coalition gathered around the Serbian Socialist Party (SPS) with 13 percent of votes, states the latest survey of the Center for Free Elections and Democracy (CeSID) published in the Monday's edition of the Belgrade-based daily Blic.

Montenegro Bows to Gusinje’s Municipal Ambitions

Montenegro is to get a new 23rd municipality after parliament verified a government decision adopted last December to grant municipal status to Gusinje.

The small town in northern Montenegro, near Albania, which has only around 2,000 inhabitants but a large diaspora in the US, is mainly home to ethnic Bosniaks and Albanians.
