Turkey's ambassador to Bulgaria gave a special interview to the BNT, discussing the Turkish operation in Syria.

Your Excellency, what is the purpose of the Turkish military operation in northern Syria and what do you expect it to be?

Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yildirim said that if anyone supports the Kurds in the Syrian enclave of Afrin, they will become a target of the Turkish armed forces.

"Any support given to terrorists will become our target," CNTV quoted Yildiram's response to a journalist's question what action Ankara would take if Washington continued to supply the Kurdish formations in Syria.

The partnership between the United States and the People's Protection Units (YPG) in the fight against jihadists in northern Syria is "creating the ground for other terror organizations in the region," Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu has said, reiterating Ankara's expectation that Raqqa will be handed to the control of local Arabs after its liberation. 

Ankara and Washington have been engaged in a fresh debate over terrorism support, after a top U.S. official claimed there was a link between Turkey and the presence of al-Qaeda-affiliated groups in Syria's Idlib.

Turkey has condemned remarks by Brett McGurk, U.S. special envoy for the fight against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), who claimed there was a link between Turkey and the presence of Al-Qaeda-affiliated groups in Syria's Idlib province. 

Turkey was offered the opportunity to establish a cease-fire observation mission in the opposition-held Syrian province of Idlib during a meeting last month in Astana in which Ankara, Moscow and Tehran agreed to declare de-conflict zones in regions controlled by the opposition groups, Deputy Prime Minister Veysi Kaynak told the Hürriyet Daily News on May 12.

It has been revealed that both the American and the Russian military attachés were called to Turkish military headquarters in Ankara a short while before Turkish jets hit outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) positions on Sinjar Mountain in northern Iraq and northern Syria at 2 a.m. on April 25.

While the al-Bab operation that the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) is conducting together with the Free Syrian Army (FSA), which it is supporting, is coming to an end, the question now is whether or not the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PYD) will split from the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK).
