President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met with Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) President Massoud Barzani on Feb. 26 for the second time in a week.

A total of 23 militants from the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), including planners for the group, were "neutralized" in Syria's north during the ongoing Turkish-led Operation Euphrates Shield, according to the Turkish military

Some 1,600 militants have been "neutralized" in the Euphrates Shield Operation in Syria since its launch in August, the Turkish Armed Forces announced on Dec. 30. 

If a task turns out to be much easier than expected, this may be pleasing to those concerned, but it also raises uneasy questions in some minds and provides fodder for conspiracy theorists. Take Turkey's military operation in Syria against the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). 

Turkey's presidency said U.S. President Barack Obama had shared his concerns over the Syrian conflict and promised his support on Feb. 19, hours after a tense exchange between the two NATO allies over the role of Kurdish militants.

The bomber who carried out the Feb. 17 Ankara attack was definitely a member of the People's Protection Units (YPG), Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an claimed Feb. 19.

"There are three names who played an active role. The perpetrator is the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union (PYD) and the YPG. We have no doubt about that," Erdo?an told reporters after Friday prayers in Ankara.

The United States has called for Turkey and the military wing of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union (PYD), the People's Protection Units (YPG), to ease increasing tension in northern Syria by abandoning their current actions in the region. 

Turkey has summoned the top U.S. diplomat in order to protest Washington's latest statement that refused to call the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union (PYD) a "terrorist" organization.

The Syrian Kurdish Democratic Union (PYD) plans to open a mission in Russia, a move that would anger Turkey which sees the party as a terrorist group, Russia's Kommersant newspaper reported on Oct. 20. 

Many media outlets claimed that ISIL launched its first attack from Turkey on Nov. 29. Did it really? Two fresh statements seem to draw a new picture "ISIS launches attack on Kobani from inside Turkey for first time," claimed a headline in The Guardian on Nov. 29.
