Biden revokes Trump orders on 'anarchist' cities and more

President Joe Biden on Feb. 24 formally revoked a series of presidential orders and memorandum signed by Donald Trump, including one that sought to cut funding from several cities the 45th president deemed "anarchist" havens and another mandating that federal buildings should be designed in a classical aesthetic.

Turkish Treasury borrows over $1 bln through auctions

The Turkish Treasury borrowed around 7.43 billion Turkish liras ($1.05 billion) from domestic markets on Feb. 23, according to an official statement.

The Treasury and Finance Ministry announced that some 447 million Turkish liras ($63.13 million) in 413-day zero-coupon bonds - reopen, the second issuance - were sold in the first auction.

Turkish-American reportedly tapped for US Treasury chief of staff

A Turkish-American with extensive experience in finance policy has been chosen as the Treasury Department chief of staff under incoming President Joe Biden, Bloomberg News reported.

Didem Nişancı, currently global head of public policy for Bloomberg LP, will be chief of staff for incoming Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, a key position, Bloomberg said late on Jan. 11. 

Turkish Treasury to repay over $14.3 bln in Dec-Feb

Turkey's Treasury will repay 111.9 billion Turkish liras (some $14.3 billion) of debt in the period from December to February, the Treasury and Finance Ministry announced on Nov. 30. 

Over the next three months, the Treasury will repay 14.2 billion Turkish liras (some $1.82 billion) in external debt, of which 7.3 billion Turkish liras ($940 million) will be interest payments.
