EU Officials cautiously optimistic on deal with Greece by Sunday

Negotiations between the Greek government and its creditors to reach a deal on the review of the Greek adjustment program are entering their final stages. Sources say an agreement could be sealed by Sunday with the signing of two separate documents; one between Greece and its EU partners and the other between Greece and the IMF.

Greece has made little progress, says Jeroen Dijsselbloem

“Greece has made little progress on reforms and cuts over the few past months,” said head of Eurogroup Jeroen Dijsselbloem on Thursday speaking at Dutch parliament.

There are some fields where there is a delay, he noted avoiding to set a date for the return of the heads of Institutions in Athens.

Implement what we agreed and you’ll get the money, says Dijsselbloem to Greece

Finance Minister and head of the Eurogroup Jeroen Dijsselbloem spoke at Dutch Parliament and stressed again that Greece can count on European financial support only if the austerity measures and reforms agreed with the creditors in July are implemented.

He highlighted Europe would fulfill the agreement made with Greek government only if Greece reaches the goals set.

Any changes to Greek deal must conform with troika pact, says Dijsselbloem

The eurogroup chairman said on Wednesday that any changes to Greece's bailout programme must be in line with existing agreements with the country's international lenders.

Jeroen Dijsselbloem, who heads the group of eurozone finance ministers, was speaking to the Dutch parliament, where a majority of lawmakers called for no new financial support for Greece.
