EU Regional Trust Fund

The Council of Ministers adopted a decision to allocate EUR 200,000 as a contribution to the EU Regional Trust Fund in response to the Syrian crisis, also known as the Madad Fund, reports BGNES. 

It helps refugees from the civil war in Syria, especially those who have temporarily settled in the neighboring countries - Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq.

With an additional €90 millionsupport from the EU Regional Trust Fund in response to the Syrian Crisis, the EU is enabling UNICEF to provide critical services and support to Syrian refugee and host community children and young people in Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey.

Bulgaria's immediate contribution into the global effort to alleviate the plight of the Syrian people affected by the civil war in their country will reach EUR 400,000 in 2016, Prime Minister Boyko Borisov has said.

A new education institution funded by the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis has officially opened for Syrian refugee girls in Turkey's southeastern province of ?anl?urfa.

The recently established EU Regional Trust Fund on Thursday signed two contracts worth a total of EUR 17.5M that aim to address the education and food needs of 240,000 Syrian refugees in Turkey, the European Commission said.

The first contract was signed with UNICEF and is worth ?12.5 million.
