Google opens path in Europe for being 'forgotten'

Google began late Thursday letting people in Europe formally request to be "forgotten" by the world's leading Internet search service.
      
The move came just weeks after the European Court of Justice ruled that individuals have the right to have links to information about them deleted from searches under certain circumstances, such as it being outdated or inaccurate.

European court orders compensation for Trikala Prison inmates

The European Court of Human Rights on Wednesday called on the Greek state to pay a total of 133,300 euros in compensation to six inmates of Trikala Prison after ruling that their detention was “inhuman and humiliating.”

In a court decision that was published on Wednesday the court upheld an appeal by the six plaintiffs who had complained of excessive overcrowding in the prison.

European court awards damages for 'degrading' migrant detention conditions


The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) on Thursday awarded 8,000 euros in damages each to two plaintiffs who filed a suit against the Greek state over the "degrading" conditions of their incarceration after being arrested for failing to produce a valid residence permit.
