House arrest of homeless man in Istanbul lifted

The "house arrest" of a homeless man, who was previously unable to move outside the boundaries of a confined public area in Istanbul, has been lifted, Doğan News Agency reported on June 22.

Barış Alkan, 31, was not allowed to step outside a specific area near a city bus station in the Söğütlüçeşme neighborhood of Istanbul as it was listed as his address in court records. 

Homeless man sentenced to house arrest in Istanbul

A homeless man has been sentenced to house arrest for using and selling drugs in Istanbul's Kadıköy district, Doğan News Agency reported.

Court orders arrest of son-in-law of former Deputy PM Bülent Arınç in anti-Gülen probe 

An Ankara court on June 5 ordered the arrest of the son-in-law of former Deputy Prime Minister Bülent Arınç after police detained him as a part of the ongoing investigation into the Fethullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ), accused of being behind the failed July 2016 coup attempt.

Ekrem Yeter was detained at his residence and later referred to the prosecutor's office to testify.
