French Consulate in Istanbul

One French citizen was killed and seven others were injured on April 9 when a hot air balloon crashed in the touristic Cappadocia region of the Central Anatolian province of Nevşehir, the transportation ministry has announced.

Turkish police have taken security measures near the Russian Consulate in Istanbul amid expectations of a protest in front of the building and a warning by the French Consulate to avoid the building's environs.  

Police forces were dispatched to the front door of the Russian Consulate building in Istanbul's central and touristic ?stiklal Avenue amid warnings of a scheduled protest. 

The French Consulate in Istanbul sent a text message to warn its citizens in Turkey to avoid going near the Russian Consulate in Istanbul on Dec. 10, daily Hürriyet has reported. 

Noting that a protest was due to take place in front of the consulate, located on Istanbul's central ?stiklal Avenue, France called on its citizens to avoid the area to be safe.
