Floods have been tearing a path of destruction across the globe, hammering Kenya, submerging Dubai, and forcing hundreds of thousands of people from Russia to China, Brazil and Somalia from their homes.

Jules Hoffmann, 2011 Nobel Laureate in Medicine, Golden Medal from the French National Center for Scientific Research, and emeritus director of research at the University of Strasbourg, will deliver a lecture titled "Innate Immunity: From Insects to Humans," at the Athens Concert Hall on Tuesday, May 16. The lecture begins at 7 p.m.

The Athens Concert Hall is hosting a lecture by Jean Weissenbach, emeritus professor at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) and senior member of the French Academy of Sciences, titled "40 Years of Genomics" on Tuesday, October 11.
