Major parties in Turkey's parliament on Nov. 27 issued a joint declaration condemning the French Senate's resolution on Upper Karabakh.

"As the political parties that have parliamentary groups in the Turkish parliament, we strongly condemn the French Senate's resolution on Nov. 25, 2020 that has been approved in defiance of the law, morality and fairness," read the declaration.

Azerbaijan's parliament on Nov. 26 slammed a resolution by the French Senate urging the recognition of Nagorno-Karabakh as "a republic."

The French Senate's vote to urge its government to recognize Nagorno-Karabakh as an independent republic disregards international law, Turkey said on Nov. 26, noting that Ankara rejects the resolution.

The Foreign Ministry strongly condemned a law that prohibits Muslim women from wearing the headscarf in France while accompanying their children during school trips.
In a statement released on Oct. 31, the ministry warned French officials that the ban could ignite discrimination against Muslims.

President Klaus Iohannis welcomed on Wednesday, at Cotroceni Presidential Palace, the President of the French Senate, Gerard Larcher, the discussions focusing on the security agenda, the strengthening of bilateral cooperation, including from a parliamentary perspective, the European agenda and international issues.

France has found traces of radioactive cesium on mushrooms imported from Russia, the head of French nuclear regulator ASN said on Thursday, quoted by Reuters.
