Turkey’s first woman sniper urges personal disarmament
Sergeant Didem Balıkcı, the first and only woman sniper of the Turkish Armed Forces, has urged citizens not to carry guns, stressing that it is only their job to keep arms to protect civilians.
"As part of our profession, we live with arms. We have to use them when it is our duty to do so. Civilians do not need to take up arms, I'm against individual armament," she said.
Number of terrorists in Turkey around 150: Minister
The number of terrorists in Turkey has dropped to around 150, Turkish Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has said.
Speaking at the Gendarmerie General Command 2021 Evaluation Meeting, Soylu stated that the number of acts of terrorism decreased by 95 percent between the end of 2015 and 2021.

Detention warrants issued for 25 soldiers over FETÖ links
An Ankara prosecutor on Sept. 4 issued detention warrants for some 25 officers with the Gendarmerie General Command, according to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Turkish Interior Ministry reshuffles 22 provincial police chiefs
A total of 22 provincial police chiefs have been reshuffled with a decree issued by the Interior Ministry published in the Official Gazette on Aug. 19.
Assignments and reshuffles have also been made in the Gendarmerie General Command, local authorities, and police department.
Three deputy police chiefs' duty posts have also been changed.
Turkish gendarmerie commander offers giving medals to commanders who clashed with coup plotters
Turkish Gendarmerie Commander Gen. Yaşar Güler has offered giving medals to commanders who clashed with the plotters of the July 15, 2016, coup attempt on the night of the thwarted coup.
Güler requested the "Outstanding Courage and Waiver Medal" should be given to six commanders who played key roles in quelling the coup attempt, daily Habertürk reported on July 20.
