Historic Syriac church in Turkey's southeast for sale
A Syriac church dating back to the 4th century in Turkey?s southeastern province of Mardin, has been put for sale on a real estate website for 12.5 million Turkish Liras, while the institutions responsible ancient sites have remained mum on the situation.
Shops in Istanbul's Grand Bazaar evacuated by the police
Police have forcefully evicted the renters of several shops inside the historic Grand Bazaar, Istanbul's largest covered market, just one day after detaining 20 shop owners who refused to leave the bazaar in protest of a renovation project.
Some 80 shops inside the Sandal Bedesten section of the Grand Bazaar were evicted under the control of the riot police on April 22.
Hürrem Sultan's bath becomes museum
The historical Valide Sultan Bath, built by Kanuni Sultan Süleyman?s wife Hürrem Sultan in the central Anatolian province of Konya?s Karap?nar district in the 16th century, has been turned into a museum.

Historic calligraphies under restoration
The General Directorate of Foundations Calligraphy Museum in Istanbul is home to 3,000 calligraphy panels. Some are undergoing restoration by 20 experts Among thousands of artworks in the Turkish Calligraphy Arts Museum, affiliated with the General Directorate of Foundations, 563 are being restored by a team of 20 experts.

Vakıfbank shares to be transferred to Treasury, draft bill suggests
Some 58 percent of Vakıfbank, all of which is currently owned by the General Directorate of Foundations, will be transferred to the Treasury, as part of controversial new regulations sent to Parliament.
