A 34-year-old former member of the terrorist group Conspiracy of Cells of Fire (also known as the Conspiracy of Fire Nuclei) was arrested on Friday on charges of attempted murder of his 84-year-old uncle, authorities reported on Monday.

A 47-year-old man was left unconscious on Thursday when a tree fell on him in the Athenian suburb of Papagou, news reports said.

The incident happened at the corner of Ionias and Argyrokastrou Streets while a crew was attempting to cut down the tree. It was not clear if the man was part of the crew or a passerby. 

An ambulance transported him to Gennimatas hospital. 

A fatal car accident occurred early Tuesday morning in the eastern Athenian suburb of Pikermi.
