German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble urged the new Greek government on Sunday to use a four-month extension it obtained for its financial rescue to implement its reform plan if it wanted to secure future help from abroad.

BERLIN - The Bundesrat, the upper house of Germany's parliament, adopted a conclusion in which it called for prompt adoption of the first chapters in Serbia's EU accession talks, noting that this point should not be conditioned by progress in the search for a solution to the Kosovo issue.

BERLIN -- Germany "does not agree with the European Commission's position that Serbia, as a candidate, has a legal obligation to introduce sanctions against Russia."

BERLIN -- German MP Gregor Gysi said in the country's parliament on Thursday that "NATO and the EU are partially responsible for the current situation in Ukraine."

This is because of the policy they pursued in previous years, the leader of the left-wing political party The Left noted.
