Skopje ups ante, widening rift with Athens
The rift between Athens and Skopje is deepening, with North Macedonian Prime Minister-elect Hristijan Mickoski stating he will refrain from verbally using the country's constitutional name - i.e without the affixed geographical designation of North - in violation of the Prespa Agreement.

Greece rescues 42 migrants off Crete, searches for three missing
Greece rescued 42 migrants off the island of Crete and was looking for three believed to be missing after their boat sent a distress signal while at sea, the Greek coastguard said on Thursday.
A coastguard official said the migrants were rescued by commercial vessels and a Greek navy helicopter some 27 nautical miles southwest of Crete.
Brussels sees growth at 2.2%
The European Commission calculates Greece's growth at 2.2% in its spring forecasts for this year and 2.3% for 2025, undercutting the projection of the Greek government. Brussels' forecast was below the estimate of the recent Stability Program for 2.5% and 2.6% respectively.

PM: Greece will not ratify memorandums until Skopje complies with Prespa deal
The Greek government will not submit for ratification the three cooperation memorandums signed with North Macedonia over issues such as its EU accession process until Skopje fully complies with the Prespa Agreement signed in 2018, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis said on Thursday.

The limits of the ally
Greece finds itself in a particularly dangerous corner of Europe. Unlike other states that ostensibly bear the formal status of ally, it has proven that it lives up to its obligations fully, as a partner and an ally. And it has done so consistently, even under adverse conditions.
