Greeks in Turkey on the verge of extinction
The current Greek population in Turkey is estimated at fewer than 2,000. But this population decline was not due to natural causes; the Greek community has become nearly extinct due to many state-sponsored attacks and pressure.
The largest attacks took place during the last years of the Ottoman Empire with pogroms and discrimination continuing until the present day.

Historic Greek Church in Istanbul to undergo restoration
Turkish Culture Minister Nabi Avcı attended an event on Dec. 23 that was organized to introduce a restoration project for the Vlahsaray Panayia GreekOrthodox Church to be conducted by the Association for the Protection of Cultural Heritage and a foundation set up for the historic church.
Greek student becomes youngest person ever to create a life-sized robot humanoid (pics)
Greek High School student Dimitris Hatzis, aged 15, created a life-sized robot humanoid using a 3D printer. The student from Kavala, northern Greece, created the robot as part of the “InMoov” project, an open source platform.
