Androulakis to gov’t: You are bogus modernizers

"We will not give a vote of confidence to the government…we will be the reliable opposition the people need," socialist leader Nikos Androulakis said Saturday during the debate on the government's policy statement.

Androulakis' PASOK party came third in the June 25 election, with 11.84% of the vote, electing 32 MPs in the 300-member Greek Parliament.

The far-right: A fragmented, not emerging force

The resounding victory of New Democracy, which was also a personal triumph for conservative leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis; the defeat of SYRIZA; the relatively modest performance of PASOK (which received only a fraction of the votes that SYRIZA lost); the resurgence of Zoe Konstantopoulou through her party, Course of Freedom.

BoG sees economy growing 2.2% in 2023

The Bank of Greece projects an acceleration in Greece's recovery after 2023 and a gradual decline in inflation, with the economy expected to grow by 2.2% in 2023, 3% in 2024 and 2.7% in 2025, the central bank said in its Monetary Policy Report 2022-2023, which was presented to the speaker of the Greek Parliament and the cabinet.

Greece’s Top Court Bars Jailed Far-Right Politician from Election

Kasidiaris is currently serving a 13-year jail sentence for his key role in the far-right wing party Golden Dawn in 2020.

While serving his sentence, he created a new far-right party, the National Party - Greeks.
