"We will not give a vote of confidence to the government…we will be the reliable opposition the people need," socialist leader Nikos Androulakis said Saturday during the debate on the government's policy statement.

Androulakis' PASOK party came third in the June 25 election, with 11.84% of the vote, electing 32 MPs in the 300-member Greek Parliament.

What has been extensively discussed since the election? The resounding victory of New Democracy, which was also a personal triumph for conservative leader Kyriakos Mitsotakis; the defeat of SYRIZA; the relatively modest performance of PASOK (which received only a fraction of the votes that SYRIZA lost); the resurgence of Zoe Konstantopoulou through her party, Course of Freedom.

The Bank of Greece projects an acceleration in Greece's recovery after 2023 and a gradual decline in inflation, with the economy expected to grow by 2.2% in 2023, 3% in 2024 and 2.7% in 2025, the central bank said in its Monetary Policy Report 2022-2023, which was presented to the speaker of the Greek Parliament and the cabinet.

The Greek branch of the European Public Prosecutor's Office (EPPO) is sending its case files to the Greek Parliament regarding a 2014 contract for the completion of key infrastructural works on the national railway, it was reported on Friday.

The center-right "New Democracy" is the big winner of the early parliamentary elections in Greece that were held yesterday. The party will form an independent government and rule for the next 4 years.

Kasidiaris is currently serving a 13-year jail sentence for his key role in the far-right wing party Golden Dawn in 2020.

While serving his sentence, he created a new far-right party, the National Party - Greeks.

National elections on June 25 in Greece will be held under the system of "reinforced" proportional representation, which differs from proportional representation that the May 21 national ballot was held under, in that it allocates bonus seats in Parliament. 

The US International Development Finance Corporation's (DFC) participation in Elefsis Shipyards is currently at $125 million, Development and Investment Minister Adonis Georgiadis said this week.

The growing frustration with politics felt by most Greeks will be expressed in the upcoming elections with an increase in abstention and a tendency to reject systemic parties and strengthen fringe formations - phenomena that will make it more difficult to govern, while also affecting the legitimacy of any government.
