Turkish navy ships violated Greek national waters without interception from Greek naval forces for 20 minutes around the waters of the island of Agathonisi near Kalymnos in the south Aegean Sea.

The Greek Pentagon is on alert after a suspicious envelope was sent to the building of the Greek National Defence. The envelope was deemed suspicious during the X-ray screening procedure at the Pentagon main gates. A specialised team from the Greek police was called in after a military handled the envelope following the screening.

The Greek Government Council on Foreign Affairs and Defence (KYSEA) is scheduled to convene at 9 am, Wednesday to examine Greece’s course of action in response to the escalating military provocations Turkey is displaying in the Aegean Sea.

The Greek Pentagon became the target of an organized cyberattack. The computer network of the Ministry of Defense, the National Defense General Staff and the Navy General Staff were fiercely attack in one of the most -if not the most- serious such incidents of its kind.

Two Turkish F-16 fighter jets violated Greek national air space, Monday. The armed jets entered into the north-eastern Aegean area and were immediately intercepted by the Greek air force as per international rules of engagement, according to Greek Pentagon sources. The two jets also infringed the Athens Flight Information Region (FIR).

Greek Defence Minister Panos Kammenos has ordered the upgrading of the F-16 fighter jets and the procurement of a squadron of 5th generation F-35 stealth aircraft, following the recommendations of the top military brass. Mr. Kammenos also ordered the maintenance of Greece S-300 Russian missile system.

The Greek Defence Ministry is highly concerned over Turkey’s recent escalation of violations against Greek territories.
