Şimşek meets with Yellen
Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek has met with U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen on the sidelines of the G20 finance ministers and central bank governors' summit in Brazil.
"I met with Minister Mehmet Şimşek to discuss how Türkiye and the United States can work together to address crucial regional issues," Yellen wrote on the social media platform X.

Brazil condemns 'paralysis' on Gaza, Ukraine at tense G20 meeting
Brazil criticized the "paralysis" of the U.N. Security Council on the wars in Gaza and Ukraine as it opened a G20 meeting Wednesday where the international community's deep divisions were on display.
The UN General Assembly adopted a resolution on an urgent ceasefire in Gaza
153 countries voted for the adoption of the resolution, 10 were against, and 23 UN members abstained.
Serbia is among the countries that supported the resolution, while Israel and the United States of America were against it.
G20 Summit kicks off in India
This year's G20 Summit, being held under the main theme of "One Earth, One Family, One Future," has kicked off on Sept. 9 with the official welcoming ceremony also attended by President Erdoğan.
The G20 leaders participating in the summit were welcomed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India at the Bharat Mandapam convention center.
